Request | As requested by the board, perform a screening for the HR function with the focus on determining areas of improvement. In specific, advise us on the current situation in terms of quality and efficiency with which the HR function is now organising their practice. Provide us with practical implications to optimise the performance of our HR function to help us anticipate on future developments.
Approach | At first, together with the board and key people within the organisation it was determined what the strategic business objectives are for the organisation. Next, a fit-gap analysis was performed in order to determine the accuracy with which the HR function currently sets her agenda, provides her services and -overall- contributes to the right HR objectives (derived from business objectives). A thorough screening was performed to assess the HR function on the quality of her products and services (how well do they contribute to the business objectives) and on the efficiency with which she offers her products and services(in terms of costs, formation, optimal processes). Findings and expert advice on optimisation strategies (3 in total, differing in terms of investments and impact) were presented to the board in an independent advice report by Bright & Company. The board chose to put one of the scenario’s in practice with our support.
Business Impact | The board decided to further increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the HR function (including both the HR professionals and line-management who share responsibility for good people management). Bright & Company is involved in the further development and roll-out of improvement projects together with key people in the organisation, providing advice on setting up projects and on how to realise most impact.
